1. Burdock Root. This is a vegetable from Europe and Northern Asia. It is commonly used to treat high blood pressure by reducing the amount of fluid in your blood vessels therefore lowering your blood pressure. It’s also used as a digestive aid because it contains multiple types of powerful antioxidants (including quercetin, luteolin, and phenolic acids). These antioxidants protect your cells in the body and reduce inflammation. Another great perk is it can help treat skin issues like acne and eczema.
2. Sarasparilla. This is a tropical plant that grows in rainforests generally found in South America and Mexico. This is generally used to treat joint problems like arthritis, heal skin problems (contains blood purifying properties). Note that this has been registered as an herb.
3. Pau D’arco. This is a tree that grows in the Amazon rainforest and other tropical regions of South and Central America. The bark and wood are used to make medicine that treat infections, cancer, diabetes, stomach, skin and inflammatory conditions.
4. Elderberry. This is a more commonly known flower shrub found in North America and Europe. It has been known in Europe to promote longevity. Native Americans use the fruit and flowers to treat pain and fever because it is an antioxidant with a good source of vitamin C as well as dietary fiber.
